Here's the project we worked on for Project Day 2011. It was a combined effort between Wells Fargo (primary donor) along with the Sheboygan Downtown Rotary and the Sheboygan Early Bird Rotary clubs. We also had invaluable help from Quasius Construction and Showcase Painting. The results are remarkable. The scope of the project was to replace 57 windows, 4 exterior doors, painting the common areas including the hallways, living room, kitchen/dining room and finally the daycare center. We accomplished all of that plus replacing the toilet and vanity in the daycare center, re-staining the exterior woodwork on 3 sides of the building, yard clean-up, and painting the playground equipment.
We had help from the Sheboygan North and South High School Interact Clubs along with the Sheboygan North carpentry trade group. Seeing all of the young people helping really was uplifting! We want to thank all of those that were able to help. Every little contribution really made the project come together.
The Bridgeway House is part of the Sheboygan County Interfaith Organization. It is a group transitional home for single mothers and their children to use while they transition from "crisis" situations to working their way back into the community. This is a structured, goal oriented, facility where each family is responsible to learn the life skills they will need to grow their self-esteem and commitment to the community. This project has helped tweak the interior and most definitely help reduce their utility bills in the future.
